The hermetic US-censorship of Japan which USA had occupied in August 1945, prevented the victims of the Hiroshima bomb (6th of August) from testifying about the human consequences of the bomb. At the same time, just after the WW2, the Swedish military started constructing a Swedish Atom Bomb - Meet one of the last participants (93 years old) who worked with the bomb! This work continued clandestinely on to 1972. But It resulted in the biggest popular resistance movement in Sweden ever. The arms race: Meet the children from Saami Lapland and the Bikini Atoll who got affected by the radioactive radiation from the A- and H-bomb tests locally! Meet the son of the female US-researcher, director of the baby tooth survey, Eric Reiss. With 500.000 baby teeth Louise Reiss proved that all American children born after 1950 had far too big amounts of radioactive strontium in their teeth. Her research was paid attention to by John F. Kennedy who together with Soviet Kruschtchef signed a treaty making the tests go underground. (The Partial Test Ban Treaty) Meet the two German lieutenants colonels who wanted to deploy the "clean bomb", the Neutron bomb in West Germany in the seventies. Does the bomb and the nuclear plants have any affinity to each other? Lennart Malmer has filmed in Chernobyl in 1986 and 1989, we have filmed in Fukushima in 2011. The 28 of July in 1992 the so called Strainer-incident, happened in the Swedish Nuclear Power Plant Barsebäck, which the Danes for so long time had tried to stop. The incident was merely mechanical and never got attention, but in fact it resulted in the stoppage and change of 74 reactors worldwide! Are the giant boosting of the old Swedish nuclear power plants all too dangerous? "Yes" says the German Broadcaster ZDF which made its own inquiries. "No" say the managers of the plants in Sweden. In this film we compare the lively German popular movement against the nuclear power plants with the aged Swedish movement. Nowadays we even have a movement FOR more Nuclear power in Sweden. The film is a retrospective depicting the struggle against nuclear bombs and nuclear power plants for 75 years.
